RE: CRT Solutions – False Claim and Misrepresentation Warning for Repair, Inspection, Maintenance and Spare Parts Supply for Volant Casing Running Tools

It has come to our attention that a company by the name of CRT Solutions with addresses in Stafford and Houston, Texas is falsely claiming to be affiliated with and acting on behalf of Volant as an OEM maintenance and repair facility for Volant Casing Running Tools.  This company claims to provide inspection and repair services and supply OEM parts for Volant Casing Running Tools, and has copied, without permission Volant’s trademarks, images, and materials.  Volant has no affiliation with this company and has not authorized it to inspect, repair, or supply OEM parts for Volant Casing Running Tools or to use Volant’s trademarks, images, or materials.  Volant is considering its legal remedies against this company to protect Volant’s and its customers’ interests.

If you are approached and solicited by this company or any other company or individual claiming to be a service representative of or offering Volant OEM parts, we encourage you to contact your Volant Sales Representative directly or our Product Support Team at support@volantproducts.ca to verify their claim.

Utilizing services from companies that have not received Volant training in the proper repair and maintenance procedures and who do not supply Volant manufactured parts for Volant Casing Running Tools may void any claim to Volant warranty or support and may put the performance of those tools and the safety of the people who operate them at risk.  The only way to ensure Volant has trained someone to properly service and repair Volant manufactured products is to confirm it with us.  Records are maintained of all individuals we have trained.

All parts sold by Volant are manufactured to the exacting standards of Volant’s ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System.  Volant does not license any other facilities or companies to perform this function.  The only way to ensure you are receiving Volant manufactured product is to order directly from Volant or from one of our approved distributors.

If you have any questions, or if you used CRT Solutions because you were misled by its claims, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

Regards,

Brad Kwasnycia

> Volant Unveils DeltaTORQ™ Rings – April 10, 2015

The Volant Group of Companies (Volant) proudly announces the DeltaTORQ™ Ring (DTR™) – developed to provide additional torsion capacity in casing/tubing connections for the upstream market.  These new rings are designed to fit all standard API casing/tubing connections, providing a cost-effective, short-lead time semi-premium connection solution. The new DeltaTORQ™ Rings make optimal use of the available space in the connection J-section, providing more torque capacity and increasing retention.

“Volant has an extensive history producing torque rings and by capitalizing on this knowledge, we are excited to release DeltaTORQ™ Rings; allowing customers to once again do more with less ,” stated Dan Shute, President of Volant. “These rings increase the connection torsion capacity, enabling customers to rotate casing and ultimately run casing/liner strings to their target depth more efficiently.”

When utilized in tubing strings, the increased torsion capacity can eliminate the need of additional downhole hardware in applications running progressing cavity pumps. Additionally, the smoothed tubing string bore can increase production efficiency, reduce erosion in the J-section and mitigate thread damage during well servicing. Furthermore, by providing a positive torque shoulder, DeltaTORQ™ rings prevent pin over-penetration, increasing the service life of tubing strings.

DeltaTORQ™ Rings come in all standard sizes listed in API-5CT. The connections are gauged and the rings installed easily onsite, before or during running operations using a handheld installation tool. Alternatively, as DeltaTORQ™ Rings have sufficient retention load, they can also be installed prior to running operations in pipe yards and transported to site already installed in the connections.

> Drillmec and Volant Sign Cooperation Agreement – August 14, 2014

drillmecIn May 2014 Drillmec SPA, a manufacturer of drilling rigs and drilling equipment, and Volant Oil Tools Inc., a manufacturer of casing running equipment, signed a cooperation agreement aimed to increase the use of the Volant Casing Running Tool (CRT) on Drillmec rigs; in particular the HH Series and the new AHEAD rig.

The automation and the unique features of the HH Series and AHEAD rigs will benefit further from running the Volant CRT, increasing safety and reducing the time to complete casing jobs. The mechanical operation of the Volant CRT eliminates the need for a control panel, third party operator and separate hydraulic connection, which simplifies integration into the drilling rig and enables casing jobs to be performed “hands off” with a fully unmanned rig floor.

Drillmec wishes to offer Volant CRTs to its customers, as standard or optional equipment, that will enable automated casing running using the automated pipe handling systems, which are integral to the Drillmec automated hydraulic rigs. In addition to casing running operations, the Volant CRT will help to improve the efficiency of the HH Rigs in casing drilling applications, which can be performed in advanced semi-automated mode.

Both companies believe that the CRT will become a valued addition to those Drillmec customers who wish to reduce the time for running casing and to simultaneously reach the highest safety levels on their rigs. Over 150 HH series units have been sold to date; operating world-wide and represent the first line of customers to whom the Volant CRT will be offered enabling them to enhance both the performance and safety of their rigs.

During the initial time of the joint activity, Volant will provide technical and commercial support, as well as training and expertise to Drillmec and all its customers, in order to guarantee that every CRT sold will allow the customer to perform successful and profitable casing jobs.

Thanks to the combination of the Volant CRT with the Drillmec hydraulic rig technology, Drillmec will be able to improve the performance of its drilling rigs, while Volant will benefit from the worldwide market presence of Drillmec drilling rigs.

> Volant’s New Mudsaver Valve Cleans Up – March 21, 2014

Now, for the first time, Volant has created a Mudsaver Valve (MSV™) that is fully compatible with our Casing Running Tool (CRT). It’s located as close to the casing seal as possible, making it powerfully effective in minimizing mud spillage and keeping the rig floor and surroundings safe and clean.

It’s not only compatible, it’s easy to install. Because if it didn’t make things simpler for you, it wouldn’t be Volant. But that’s not all. The MSV adds absolutely no length to the CRT with external grip (CRTe™) and only minimal length to the CRT with internal grip (CRTi™).

It opens and closes automatically with pressure and flow and features tough, wear-resistant components that are easily replaced. And the backflow function avoids safety concerns that come with trapped pressure.

Like all our products, our new MSV comes with industry respected full Volant support.
