When a well fails, what you don't know will hurt you... that's why it is so
important to do your trouble-shooting before problems arise. Volant's advanced
load bearing and sealing products for drilling and completions are designed to
avoid snags before they happen.
Producing oil also means producing sand in many unconsolidated reservoirs in
Western Canada and throughout the world. Innovative production strategies that
include sand production have some of the highest recovery rates in the
industry. However, if a large amount of sand is produced the formation slumps
into the resulting void and buckles the casing where the pump should be placed.

The Solution - CRW (Compaction Resistant Wellbore) >>

Volant has developed the "CRW" system to absorb compaction in the resevoir
without damaging the casing and pump. The system control consists of:
Compression DuraWAV tools that stroke out compressive
deformation in the reservoir
A heavy-wall, larger diameter casing that delivers stroking
loads to the DuraWAV and reacts bending loads imposed
by formation compaction to ensure the casing remains
straight
Special Volant Flush Joint (VFJ) connections for the oversize
casing that fit inside the profile of a standard
casing, optimized for compressive loads
