Being able to rotate, circulate, and reciprocate casing and liner strings can make the difference between stuck pipe and getting safely to the bottom. Mounted to the top drive and using an internal gripping mechanism stabbed into the pipe, it grips the inside pipe surface of the casing, unlike conventional systems that engage on connection threads, or grip the pipe aggressively with make-up tongs. Engagement with the pipe is fast, and full load capacity allows the CRTi to hoist and rotate the casing simultaneously. The result is a premium pipe handling system offering superior running efficiency. |
