Your role with us:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector will support the implementation and administration of Quality Assurance to ensure services provided comply with specified requirements.  The QA Inspector will promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the Quality Program.

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years working experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.

                Your role with us:

                As the Project Engineer, Product Development, you are a talented mechanical design engineer working collaboratively to advance Volant’s goals of continuing to create and grow relevant product offerings that improve the safety and efficiency of oilfield well construction. You will advance the new product ideas, identified by the Volant Technology Office, through the management and execution of design and development activities guided by the staged New Product Development (NPD) Process.

                Your scientific curiosity will guide you to engage with and contribute to all aspects of the development process and develop an in-depth expert level technical knowledge of the products and of the basis for their designs. Your areas of focus will include conceptual design, in-house and field validation testing, and detailed product design. You will be responsible for the creation and verification of the engineering basis of concept and product designs, perform part and assembly modeling and drafting in accordance with internal standards, support Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities and reporting in accordance with the NPD process and ISO 9001-2015 requirements.

                You will bring to the role:

                • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree with a strong mechanical component.
                • Registered Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta is required.
                • Scientific curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring challenging engineering problems and new initiatives is required.
                • Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and experience in understanding the complex physics of mechanical systems is required.
                • Strong oral and written communication skills, experience in numerical or finite elemental analysis, mechanical modelling and demonstrated mechanical aptitude are required.
                • 5 years of relevant experience in oilfield, manufacturing, testing, product development, mechanical design, and project development is an asset.
                • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields is considered an asset.
                • Understanding of 3D CAD Modelling (SolidWorks) and Product Line Management (PLM) software is preferred.
